CLEAR CUT by Sadi Broncho 1990
Spirits of all FOREST~TREE
Full of life and mystery;
Whispering wisdom, rustling leaves.
Windswept clearcut, heart that grieves.
Graceful grandeur swept the sky,
In the Earth your secrets lie.
Rooted, grounded, bend and sway,
Cleansed the AIR WE BREATH each day.
Struggling now,
How to survive?
Nurtured seedlings might revive
The MAJESTY that stood so strong.
Grew forever....now, how long?
This massacre, one million dead!
Screams of anguish,
Nothing said.
Gashes scar our Mother Earth.
No more stands a forest's girth!
Levelled by the hand of GREED!
Ruination of BOREAL breed!
Ravaged lands that once were treed!
Who of US will hail or heed,
The desperation of this plea?
